4DRDS was hired by Hull Cove Design, a division of Kirby Perkins Construction, a leading high-end residential building company in Newport, RI. The task was to quickly assemble existing documentation of the historic house. Once complete, provide construction documentation for all the improvements. Hull Cove Design was understaffed to handle such a large project at the time, as a result, 4DRDS stepped in to provide the necessary support. The project is located in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Flying to Virginia a number of times to gather information and meet with the owner and Jason McLevy was the highlight of 2017. The plantation is massive, in encapsulates approximately 500 acres of land. The new owners have a history of preserving properties like this one. They desired to restore the estate back to its architectural glory but with modern-day amenities.
Carter's Grove Plantation

I am writing this reference at the request of Robert Melinosky whom I have known and worked with for several years now. Rob first came to us as a subcontractor when we needed an additional designer and draftsman for the restoration and renovation of the Carters Grove plantation. Rob was able to fill both roles since he is not only highly skilled and efficient with AutoCAD, but he also has a strong design sense. This particular project required drawings to be produced quickly, leaving little time for historical research.
Rob’s experience and positive attitude played a critical role in the success of this project.
Since that time, Rob has also handled various other projects for Hull Cove Design including 3D renderings. All of our work together has required remotely shared files with diligent effort to keep those files current on a main server.
